Pay rent your way with the Royal Estate portal

Authorize automatic rent payments for the rentals you choose. AutoPay uses rental credit first, and your authorized Auto-Pay device can cover a shortfall from your Second Life L$ balance—even while you are offline when the device remains rezzed and connected.

Authorize automatic rent payments

In My rentals, turn AutoPay ON for each rental you want renewed automatically. This authorizes automatic rent payments for that rental. AutoPay uses your prepaid rental credit first; a paired and authorized Auto-Pay device can cover a credit shortfall from your Second Life L$ balance.

You can turn AutoPay off separately for each rental. AutoPay OFF stops automatic renewal; it does not cancel the rental or undo payments already made. With sufficient rental credit, renewal works while you are offline without a wallet device.

Automatic payments from your L$ balance

To include your L$ balance, collect the Auto-Pay HUD/device at our office. Open Auto-Pay HUD in the portal to create a pairing code. Touch the device, select Register and enter the code, then choose Grant DEBIT and accept the payment permission. Check its status and payment limit in the portal.

For offline L$ payments, leave the device rezzed and connected on your parcel with payment permission, sufficient L$ and room within its payment limit. A worn HUD works only while you are online; a device in inventory cannot pay.

Disabling the wallet device does not turn off renewals funded by rental credit. See the resident user guide (sign-in required) for detailed setup and troubleshooting.

Start with your rental credit

Money added to your Royal Estate account appears as Store credit in the resident portal. It is prepaid rental credit. Add Linden Dollars through the Credit Vendor at our in-world office, then check your balance and transaction history in the portal.

Adding credit and enabling AutoPay are separate steps. You can keep a balance for manual payments, automatic renewals, or both.

Make a manual payment while offline

In My rentals, find the correct rental and select Pay now. Enter an amount within your available rental credit, check the details and confirm. This uses your existing credit, so you can do it from the portal without being logged into Second Life.

If the payment is queued, wait for the result and check your transaction history and rental time. The display may take a little while to update.
