Four useful tools for your Royal Estate land

The Essentials Pack brings together everyday tools for access control, getting around, checking land usage and understanding region performance.

Security Orb: manage visitor access

Configure protection for your parcel, add people to your access lists and choose the settings that suit your space. Start by adding expected friends before turning protection on. Read the detailed guide to understand warning times, private and public modes, and the difference between Orb lists and Second Life land bans.

The Orb covers the parcel on which it is placed, including its different heights. Successful protection depends on the required land and Experience permissions.

Teleporter: connect your locations

Place at least two pads to travel between locations such as your ground-level home and skybox. Pads in a network must share the same object owner and exact Object Name; give each a distinct Description so its destination is easy to recognize.

Use the owner's Sync control after setup. Travel uses the Royal Estate Experience and works between authorized locations. Check the resident guide when connecting pads across regions.

Prim Counter: keep track of land usage

See parcel Land Impact usage, capacity and free space, and touch the device for a detailed report. Compare these readings with the allowance in your rental agreement as you add furniture, landscaping and other content.

Its OWNER TOTAL follows Second Life land ownership. That figure may include other parcels and should not be treated as extra allowance for your rental.

Lag Meter: understand simulator slowdown

The Lag Meter displays region Time Dilation, a measure of simulator slowdown. It gives you a useful reading to include when reporting a region-performance problem.

This is different from your viewer's frame rate or internet latency. It does not identify a particular resident or object as the cause of lag.
